I edited a map I downloaded from here I think. Not sure. Regardless. I saved it in the correct place and everything. Yet in game when I scroll the maps on skirmish, it is not there. I have tried tweaking things, but it still wont show.

Perhaps you changed something you shouldn't have..😛

What edits did you make?

Test by copying your edited map somewhere else, then download and unpack the map again and see if it runs ok without any edits.

Well, I made it bigger on one side, removed most of the ore node, placed oil derricks, and did kind of like what you're doing with Persecution(I believe that is what you dubbed it?) with two of the players confined with water surrounding. I moved the start points appropriately and even gave them each an ore node.

Questions -
Have you changed the name of the map?
Are you certain that the Player Start points are still there? (not accidentally deleted)

Yes I did change the name. And yes, they are there. 🙂

The map name should exactly match the folder that contains it in the RA3 Maps folder.

For example:
Map Folder name: Dark_Fortress_RA

containing map: Dark_Fortress_RA.map

If you have changed the name of the map, check that the containing folder is named exactly the same, otherwise the game will not be able see the map file.

THAT's it! I didn't know the folder and the map name had to match. Waiiiiiiit. I think I had them match once but it still didn't show.

IT WORKED! YAY Now to look up tutorials on making the minimap. Black and purple ain't my thing. lol

Oh sweeet!

Aww darn. Oh well. How do you use the Height Tab to make straight cliffs? Like on a BattleBase, or in a port?

If you check out the rest of that tutorial.. it shows you how to create a small FFI in the centre of the map.. but in simple terms.. set your height brush to the level you want your cliffs to be above the base terrain and just drag-and-draw.. 😄
