Hii..so i want someone to test my first map and tell me why its SO laggy..i've remade it like 5 times trying different things to see why it may be laggy...i had it snowing..removed that..was GINOURMOUS..made it much much smaller..had water removed it..and still..very very laggy..any advie would be greatly appreciated. I have submitted it, its called "The Hot Gate"

hey got it tried it soon as the bases started getting bigger it began lagging again...what would be the reason for lagging? cuz big bases and lots of enemies you can do that on original maps and not a bit of lag... :/

Try removing your fortress wall choke point in the Combat Zone. Making all units to go through that small opening will bog the game way down. You already have a fairly restrictive passage down the middle of the map. That in itself is going to slow things down. Adding a wall across it only complicates things.

nope still lags... :/ thats so weird...could it be my cliffs are tooo big? i used the level tool or w.e ground not sure what its called and raised it to 255 Max and thats what the two bases are on then a ramp down to normal level ground

Not really. The problem is the valley. Units need to figure out the landscaping and plan their path through the valley. If the map was flat then units would just go directly to the enemy base. This is one of the problems with maps that restrict movement. The teams know they need to go to the other side of the map but to do so they have to go the opposite direction to the top of the ramp then down. So on this setup there will be some lag because units will need to move away from their target.
