Hey I haven't been here for awhile but my CP class will allow me to use an effect from this game, and I really want to use the nuke blowing up.dds file. But, I don't know how to get each file individually, just the cover file. So, can anyone help me out on getting all of the TGAs out of the Nuke's FX? ryanrehfuss@verizon.net

The nuclear missile has many different effects going on at once. Go into the ParticleSystem.ini and look up these entries for the textures and colors:

  • NukeFlare
  • NukeMushroomExplosion
  • NukeMushroomCloudRing
  • NukeRing
  • NukeBlastWave
  • NukeShockwaveInverted
  • NukeMushroomStem
  • NukeShockwave
  • NukeMushroomRing


Just out of curiosity, what were you planning on doing in your class?

It's not for use in my sig, it's actually for use in a basic movie-style animation. I'm using an animation program called Alice run on Java. It's a war video and at the end a 707 superimposing as a B52 flies over and a nuke goes off (which is now represented by a giant white dome that grows bigger. I want the NUKE to go off. AAHL2: When I go into the particlesystem.ini file it shows me the .dds file but within that .dds file there are several MIPMaps (which I assume are different pictures within the DDS?) and I don't know how to sort them out, I only the get the one on the cover.
