Pre-order Extras

Westwood Underground has found out that people who pre-order C&C Generals will be getting some extra goodies!  These extras include the following:

  • Bonus CNC Generals CD with extra info, from music to concept art.
  • 4-color Tech Tree card
  • 4-color Multiplayer Map/Strategy Card
  • Officer's Club orientation letter (includes a secret code that unlocks exclusive game art)

Also, those who pre-order will get one of the three below boxes.  You won't be able to choose which box you get, however.  Personally, I'd like to get my hands on all three of em.

You can pre-order through our online store here.  Note: I can't personally confirm that people who order from Chips n Bits (our online store affiliate) will get these extras.

The Twelfth Day of Christmas

First of all, I'd like to send out a big merry Christmas and happy holidays from the Generals World staff!  Second of all, I encourage everyone to read the following, despite this news post's length.

I've been hard at work, finishing this up for now, the last day of our special Christmas event.  If you haven't noticed yet, we've changed our top bar quite a bit.  I'll spend a second explaining it, just so that y'all don't get lost.  Most of the pages from our "Other Information" section have moved to our "Features" section.  A couple of the pages have been merged into other pages on the site.  Also, instead of having "Units" and "Structures" categories, we've reorganized our site to have categories for each of the three factions in Generals: the USA, China, and the GLA.  We've also added a "Civilian" section, which will describe some civilian/neutral structures in Generals, such as Oil Derricks.

Now for the treat for our visitors not in the GMPT.  I have completely redone the USA Units and Structures pages.  I had originally planned on redoing all of the content pages for each of the factions.  However, due to circumstances out of my control, among which being that there are only 24 hours in a day, I flat out ran out of time.  But what about the rest of the content pages?  Well, every other day or so over the next week or two we'll be releasing a new, completely updated content page.  Ah, more incentive to keep checking back here often.

The completely redone unit and structure pages include all of the units and structures for the USA.  They also list their upgrades and their special abilities.  Not only that, but the descriptions include each unit and structure's cost, as well as each unit's strengths and weaknesses.  If that wasn't enough for ya, I've also included all of the "icons" that you use to build each unit and structure with, and updated in-game screenshots of them as well.  This is now some of the most comprehensive Generals information on the web, so I encourage everyone to visit the USA pages and see for yourselves.  After you're done that, head over to this thread in our forums to post any comments, suggestions, or questions you may have.  Multiplayer Testers: Please post any errors you find.

Once again, happy holidays everyone!

A Very Generals MP3

'Twas the night before Christmas and all the through the site
MicScoTho was updating, flying like a kite;
Wallpapers of many online in some days,
In hopes that visitors would would come to this page;

The webbies were nestled all snug in the chairs,
While tons of Generals news tangled within their hairs;
And Micscotho with his Pc, and I with mine,
Had just sat down listening to the GLA's chime,

When out in the forum there arose such a clatter,
I bashed keys madly to check out the matter.
Away to the chat; I flew in a flash,
Clicking fast; I learned of the clash.

"Now Luckie! Now MicScoTho! Now Exo! Now Eternity!
Post the darn mp3, i'm gaining paternity!"
"From the Desktop of me, to the desktop the desktop of all,
Now go ahead, go ahead, downloads for yall!"

A Very Generals Mp3 is now available. It's a mix of CNC past and CNC future so be sure to download it now. Click here or head over to our Misc Download Page.

Have a very good Holiday season.

Official Generals Website Live!!

That's right folks!  The official generals website is now live!  It's no longer a preview site, but a full-blown Flash masterpiece.  Personally, I love Flash, and this Flash site is very well-done.  It loads plenty fast with my cable connection.  Not sure how fast it will load for you 56Kers.  In any case, head on over here to check it out!

Update:  I've just finished checking out all the pages of the site now.  EA has added descriptions and cool zoomable screenshots of three units and one structure per side in Generals.  They also have a couple new screenshots, and there's three Generals wallpapers - one USA-themed, one China-themed, and one GLA-themed.  They also have many pages that seem to not be up just yet, including game strategies, audio, movies, chat logs, official map packs and more.

Generals News

Here's the latest CNC Generals news.  Firstly, the CNC Generals Developer Underground website has been updated.  All the images now work, and their FAQ has been updated.

Secondly, the "final" Generals box artwork has been released, thanks to CNC Universe for this.  It is similar to the older version, except the new version is more "battleworn."  It comes in two versions.  A 56K friendly version, and a huge high-resolution version.

Lastly, the official Generals logo has been released.  It comes in both a .jpg version and a Photoshop .psd version.  I've added a new Downloads page to our site: Miscellaneous.  The Photoshop version has been added to that page.

Four months. She’d been here for four whole months. She was supposed to leave last week for her grandparents’ home in the United States but they still wouldn’t let her leave. She didn’t understand why. She had learnt the language, studied the history of the country and its customs, and even bought a whole new wardrobe, but they still wouldn’t let her go. She missed her friends, her family, her home and her freedom. She was trapped, and she was pissed.

Community News

Here's the latest community news for Saturday, December 14th:

  • XGR has 10 new screenshots of Generals posted.
  • HomeLan Fed has posted their Generals Multiplayer Test impressions.  Click here to read their article.
  • CNC Universe and CNCDEN both have cool new wallpapers up!
  • The latest version of the Generals box art has been floating around the community.  Here's an image of it:

You can click on the image to see the compressed version of the full-sized image, or click here to visit CNC Universe and see the high-resolution version.

  • GameSpot has a new Generals trailer up, but it is only available to GameSpot Complete members.  However, Rodoom has uploaded the movie here.  The movie is about one minute long, and very spiffed-up.  Thanks to CNC Universe for this: in the movie, when there is text that says Tomahawk Laucher, in the background you'll notice something that look like a battleship or cruiser.

That's all for community news for now!

To Beta Tester!

Don't download a program that modifies Generals! Because they steal your serial key!

These programs tell you that they can change from 800x600 to 1024x768, but they Don't!

Be on the look out for other programs that modifies Generals!
