Hi. I have installed zero hour. I can launch it and it runs like a dream, no problems at all. Then after a while - sometimes 30 minutes, sometimes up to 60 minutes, I get a catastrophic system crash - and I mean have to hit the power button crash. It happens every single time I play the game without fail, its just the time it takes that varies. Now before you ask, I have put generals.exe into windows xp compatibility mode, and I also run as administrator. I have not applied any patch - so its just running v1.0 or whatever the earliest version is. I'm also using a no-cd patch. I've played this game for years using XP and never had a problem. The following is from the windows event log after one crash, but this event didn't occur the next time it crashed - in fact there was no event at all.

Try patching it first, that should fix most game crashes. HOWEVER: Gen/ZH are known to fatally crash like that.

Thanks Pheonix, I patched it and it ran perfectly for 3 days or so - I thought it was fixed, but just now it crashed again :-( I don't know if I just have to accept the occasional crash. Interesting I haven't heard anyone else with this particular problem - usually its either crash on startup or if it does crash during gameplay, doesn't crash the whole system. As I said before, I never once had this problem playing on XP.
