guyz,can anyone help me? when the i try to start the game, game.dat is not responding always pops up. i really want to play this game.. btw, im talking about c&c generals and im running on windows xp sp2 any help would be greatly appreciated... Do you have a legitimate copy of the game? Using a crack typically does this (or so many websites say). If you were running Vista, it would be because you did not patch the game using "Run as Administrator" Edited by user Tuesday, July 14, 2009 5:22:39 AM(UTC)

Sorry for bringing up a slightly old topic, but i'm also having the same problem, but on Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit (it's the 7100 build), i have the Deluxe Edition and it installed Generals fine but when i go to play it, every time it comes up with the same game.dat error. I am an Administrator so that shouldn't be a problem, and i've tried setting it to Windows XP SP3 compatability mode to no avail... When i try to install the Zero Hour expansion it won't even start the process; when it starts to load up InstallSheild i get an error saying something like InstallSheild failed to load. EDIT: Managed to get it to install simply by trying it again and again and again, but the same game.dat error comes up when i try to play it -.- Edited by user Saturday, November 7, 2009 3:35:35 AM(UTC)

I'm having this issue too. I found a link that is a crack file about game.dat for the game but am unsure if it is what I'm looking for. Anyone know anymore? http://www.rapidsharemeg...keygen-free-download.htm
