Did they nerf the Mothership down before game release? I have tested the mothership several times now and I have never seen a chain reaction. All it does is destroy 2-3 structures. This seem to be pathetic because its armor are really bad (3-4 Attack bikes can kill one Mothership easily) and it costs 5000. It's the slowest unit in the game, and the list goes on...
First time I tested this, I was really excited to see the cool effects, used my superweapon to clear out some AA units and fly over my Mothership to the enemy base. Released a jolt at their nearest building (a Power Plant). Mothership recharces first (takes like one minute), shoots a jolt of energy, destroies the Power Plant... and nothing else. By the time he has several new AA units which kill my Mothership in seconds.
Also used it in the middle of a city... charching... shooting... destrying 3 civilian structures. Nothing more. There were left like 20 civilian buildings around.

the PAC's are much better. that "superweapon" is a waste of precious tiberium. its not even good for defence lol. |

I was wondering if they actually lowered its power down myself as my fleet of Carriers and Devastators leveled the AI base faster then the mothership did... |

By the way, the text is accurate. The enemy base just have to be really close together.
I tested versus an Easy Turtle AI. I shot one of their Power Plants which exploded with ease, then a shockwave from that building touched another Power Plant, which exploded, and then it went on like that for some time.
This is what I destroyed with one Shot from the Mothership:
3 Power Plants 1 War Factory 1 Barracks 1 Surveyor 1 Refinery 3 AA Batteries 1 Watch Tower
2 Predator Tanks 4 Rifleman Squads

so yeah. You need to be on top of the target to fire. Pretty slack. I'd rather build a rift gnerater instead |

there's two emp control caenter. I fired my mothership weapon and it blew up both at once. It also tagged the other 4 tib spikes that were near it. Although those spikes were my friend's. |

It does worrk, one trick is to use infantry, put a bunch of infantry near a tiberium field, then have the mother ship fire on the tiberium filed, the chain reaction will spread to the infantry, send them through a worm hole, and have your infnatyr run through his base, leveling everything. If bases are close together, a mother ship can blow up anything |
