This past Sunday, I downloaded new mods and patches for CNC Generals and Generals Zero Hour. I attempted to go online to test them against other online players, but was hindered by the amount of out-of-context chatter between the (players?) online. Quite frankly, this level of asinine, off-color communication between so-called gamers is ruining the online gaming experience for the majority of TRUE GAMERS. I actually was drawn into it by my anger at these (adults?) who use this as a forum to disrespect others instead of what it is intended for, i.e. to play games, to learn how to play games, to join with other TRUE GAMERS for a enjoyable gaming experience. (For the record, I told one particularly VULGAR player who asked for a therapist that they should try Smith & Wesson). Yes, we don't live in a perfect world, but it occurs to me that these individuals should be weeded out of the online gaming community so that those of us who are REAL GAMERS can use it for its intended purpose. To that individual I apologize, and hope that this message, if they ever see it, drives home the point. THIS IS FOR PLAYING GAMES ONLINE, NOT TO EXERCISE THE RIGHT OF FREE SPEECH. IF YOU WANT TO EXERCISE YOUR CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT OF FREE SPEECH, USE TWITTER, FACEBOOK, OR SOME OTHER SOCIAL MEDIA. LEAVE THE GAMING SITES ALONE.
