I need some help and tips for making new particle effects like lightning and explosion.I don't know what tools that i needed i have adobe after effects but im not quite sure if this the right stuff.

You'll have to check under ParticleSystem.ini for examples.

But here's the gist of what coding in it looks(I don't take credit for this, I took this someplace else that I don't remember):



And Well, the only thing you'd use the image editors for if you want custom textures for your particles. And you'd have to make sure to export them to either .tga or .dds

oh... is there any application that can be generate the ini code while controlling the animation and can be seen in realtime using in some sort of program?

I don't know if there's such a program...
If you really want to learn particle effects coding, you would have to ask precision_bomber to teach you, if he is still here.
I haven't moded since April, I remember everything else, almost. But there's a topic by precision that taught me everything I need to know. I will try to find it ;)

Lol I literally posted a tutorial that explains everything about every line of particles, but I guess poeple are just too lazy for it... As for the program, I read that there is one, but only works for Generals.

But Chappi/Failure's tut and mh_particle(?) explains things better.

Its actually nice just to see how changing up numbers/textures used in the present code.
Experiment by just tweaking things.
It how I generated my effects. Don't be afraid that the effect is ugly-- you can fix that your liking.

The only way I know is actually have it draw in-game.

Important(in case you didn't know):
Okay, so if you have your ParticleSystems, you're gonna ask how are you gonna make them draw in-game?
Various ways:
1. Attach it to a model.

2. As a MissileExhaust in your weapon code. If it is an Exhaust Effect.
3. On your FXLists. Once more, you can look examples in the existing code.

4. Other means that require a ParticleSystem entry. Refer to INI Object Behaviors Documentation.
