New Poll and Poll Results

I updated the poll today. For the last poll, I must say that I agree with those (few) of you who said "Two." I can't see RA3 containing a third side (aside from the Allies and the Soviets, who's left?). Anyway, here are the results:

How many playable sides do you think will be featured in RA3?
Two
7
9%
Three
28
38%
Four
22
30%
More than Four
15
20%

Total Votes: 72

01/18/05- Roundup time

News from the past couple of days:
  • CNC DEN is starting newsletter feature again. They also have two new Zero Hour maps, 15 new Zero Hour replays, and a Renegade-themed music video from Tesla7zap. In addition, CNC DEN is celebrating its third anniversary. Congrats to Lion and the staff!
  • The Vietnam Reborn team has uploaded 5 new renders and a screenshot.
  • EA's Aaron, community manager for BFME and other EA games, made a post on the Middle Earth MW forums. A brief snippet:
I think it is also an extremely important point for you guys to remember that quite often EA can put a very high quality fun title out almost EVERY year. You got Generals in early 2003, Zero Hour not too long after in the same year, and a little bit more than a year later after that you get TBFME. All three games have an average review rating higher than 80% which by the most hardcore and casual gamers standards, is a very good worthy game.
The rest can be read here.
  • The First Tiberium War and Cold War Crisis won awards in ModDB's recent awards for 2004 contest.
  • CNC Reborn has released a render of the Nod Tick Tank.
  • Imperial Assault has released a demo mission. It's their first one and weighs in a 66MB.

New Poll and Poll Results

I added a new poll today. Below are the results from the last one. I must say I am very surprised about how many of you wanted to change the AI instead of the SCUD bug. I guess you don't play online. 01/08/05-- Crimson Dawn Updates, others

News from the last few days:
  • First, like MicScoTho mentioned, I must give a hearty congratulations to CNC Series. It's great to have them back.
  • CNC DEN has a new map up, "Stoney Batter." It was made by Lion, the webmaster. They also have four new replays.
  • True War 2, a ZH mod, has released a new render and screenshot.
  • The Road to Moscow mod has released a couple of new renders. They also are looking for a skinner.
  • CNC Crimson Dawn has annouced that they will have their own EXE, and that they will not be requiring a CD to play. For more info on their current updates, see this thread in their forums.
  • Petroglyph Games made up of many former Westwood Studios employees has annouced that their game will be called: "STAR WARS: EMPIRE AT WAR." They expect to release more infomation soon, and the game is due out in late 2005. They were also featured in two major PC magazines recently: PCZone of the UK and Computer Gaming World in the 'States. Planet CNC has scans of both of the articles.
  • Speaking of Planet CNC, they are now covering military advances as well, and they started this off with some news on High Powered Microwave Research. Sounds a bit like Generals, doesn't it?

CNCSeries.com Reopens

Our affiliate CNC Series has re-launched with a brand new version 8.0 of their Command & Conquer fansite! The new version of the site sports a fresh, crisp layout and a wide array of new features. Almost all of their old content has been ported over to their new self-coded dynamic content management system. CNCSeries has been online since 2000 -- some may remember it from then as Red 2 World. Here's what Rob had to say about the site's new dynamic features:
The site is awash with dynamic features. You can rate files, sort them in your order, comment, bookmark and do many, many other exciting things. Customise your news for example. All you have to do is register an account - it'll take one minute at the most and you'll also be able to post in the forum.
CNC Series has also posted a new article written by Paul entitled "False Promises & Future Musings," which discusses the faults of Generals Online, the recent announcement of Red Alert 3, and future hopes for the C&C franchise.

Be sure to head on over to CNCSeries.com and pay them a visit!

First off, as mentioned by Renaissance earlier, the Blitzrieg 2 team made a breakthrough in the SAGE engine: towed artillery.
And in other news:

SAGE engine Breakthrough!!

The Blitzkrieg2 team has forged forward as they have successfully implemented a deployable/redeployable towed artillery. That’s right, artillery which can be towed deployed, packed up, towed, and redeployed. Previous attempts of this kind have been unsuccessful in the Generals/ZH SAGE engine. Click here to see it in action. Congrats to the mod team on this grand development.

As well, The Star Wars TC Mod Ren: A New Hope, has released a picture of the Imperial Turbolaser Defense turret. This baby packs a punch and can easily become the cornerstone of any defense. See it here

Also, CNCSERIES will return with their new site this Friday; January 7th! Hours and hours have been put in by the site's team just to maintain the old with the new. The work put into this site also brought to fruition a brand new "in-house" coded forum!! This promises to be a revolutionary experience for all members. Good work guys.
