How come it is every time I create a river it gets all messed up and ugly?

I mean, I've seen the system maps with the rivers and they're all fine and neat just like a river should be.

So what am I doing wrong?

place as less waypoints as possible and play around with them, it takes some time but when you get the hang of how it works it goes faster and faster.
Just start with a rectangular shape and add 2 wp's at a time, start in the corner and place the waypoints opposite of eachother.

This is why almost NONE of the maps I do have a river like that... I just dig into the water, it doesn't look as cool with oceany waves like that, but it looks better then a stream in a gravity anomaly. ๐Ÿ˜›
Any old friends still on here can add me on discord @jcdenton2187. I'm far more likely to respond there.

Split the water area into many small water areas with 4 waypoints.

The floating direction of the water depends on the order, the water area corner points have been created in (see red circles / arrow):

You can make each river segment as long as you want but the river width is limited, as the texture will be stretched:

The same rules apply to rivers consisting of more than 4 corner points, but it is way harder to create these rivers in one step because you have to think way ahead and you always need the same number of corner points on each side of the river:

The most important part is to create the river segments or the entire river in one run. You may never add more corner points to any river area later on, as the result will be horrifying.

Hope that explains everything.
