Hey everyone.

I've just downloaded C&C Allstars, and I must say, it's quite impressive. I really hope to be having a fun time playing it for awhile but until then I have a little problem that pretty much prevents me from doing it.

See, in-game there is a very distinct lack of new sound. Nearly every weapon is totally silent when firing and exploding. The new voices work fine, including death sounds

, but the special effects sounds are very much absent.

The second problem is that for almost everything in game I'm getting a "MISSING:InsertStringOfWordsHere", as if there was no .csf file.

I doubt that the creators just forgot to include this stuff, and I'm actually wondering if the sound thing has to do with Windows 8... Although when I tried to add new DEATH sounds it didn't work. The death sounds work fine here.

I've double-checked and I've removed all files having to do with Generals:Domination, my mod.

Try installing All Stars on top of a clean reinstall of Generals.

Oh man, having to reinstall ZH was one of the last things I wanted to do. 😞

Two things I forgot to mention:

I'm running Gen.Tool on my copy, which is my dad and I got ZH and Generals to work well enough on here. Does that affect anything?


Can I also use some of the resources from this mod? For example, the Conscript's model could work perfectly for a new Hero Unit I have planned for the Chinese Infantry General, and the Virus infantry could serve to replace Dr. Thrax's Jarmen Kell.
