Here is the deal. I have installed both C&C Generals and the Generals Zero Hour on my new Win7 machine. It will not load. Gives me the serious error message after the splash up screen. Below are the machine specs and the other helpful information. Be patient with me as I know squat about computers.

Yes. I have right clicked and tried XP pack 2, 3, and Vista.

it ain't compatibility,

ok try to locate ur generals (zero hour) map and right click configure/options or w/e it might be again and try deselecting read-only, then ok

might help :/
also try it with the firewall, antivirus etc shutted down

it tries to reach a location wich he may not for some reasons

Try this link. It worked for me. Key missing step was creating a 'options.ini' file in the data folder.

make sure ur got current patches too. I had to copy a couple files from my laptop which was running XP and install a couple of the patch files myself. Worked after that. But it is possible so keep trying
