The third side in Red Alert 3 is Japan, a side never before seen in Command and Conquer. The Japanese side is heavily influenced by anime and Japanese history, and features a number of transforming units. They also use a unique build mechanic that sets them apart from other sides.
Build Mechanics
After clicking a purchase icon, a small vehicle emerges from the Japanese Conyard. This vehicle, called an "egg" by the development team, can move and deploy anywhere on the map. It deploys into the desired structure. As a result, the Japanese don't use build radius at all. In addition, structures must be individually upgraded to allow production of more advanced units.
