A (Late) Community News Update

My, my. We've all been busy lately. Anyway, better late then never!

  • CNC Replays has a new program out called Replay Manager. Looks good for those of you who watch or record replays frequently. Here are some of the features:

    • Autosave your replays. Whenever a match is over, the RM can save the replay automatically for you.
    • Browse games in an easy manner with good overview. See player names, IDs, teams and more. RM supports subfolders too.
    • Launch replays from windows explorer. Whenever you have downloaded a replay, just press open, and the replay will will be copied into your ZH replay folder as "000000 Replay Manager" and ZH will be launched, so all you have to do is to press load, replay, 000000 Replay Manager. The RM can also distenguish between 1.02 reps and Aceton balancemod replays, so if you launch one of those, ZH will be launched with the "-mod" paramter

  • Deezire has released V 2.3 of Pro Gen, his amazing ZH mod. Try it if you haven’t already!

  • As mentioned before, GW is looking for news posters. If you're interested in applying e-mail the webmaster at MicScoTho@cncgeneralsworld.com. Sadly, we do not pay, but you do get access to the staff forum.

  • Also, remember, I want your poll question ideas. E-mail them to Blbpaws@cncgeneralsworld.com!

A (Very Brief) Community News Update

As I seem to be this site's "do anything (and everything)" person, here's a brief update from around the CNC Community.
  • Lion from CNC DEN has a timeline up called CNC History. It's an interesteding read, and is short. It will contain stuff you know already...

  • Vietnam Rebornhas new renderings up at their site. Check 'em out!

  • Planet Earth (a ZH tc mod) needs new team members, specifically modellers and skinners. Talk to them if you're interested!

I guess that's all for today. Remember to send me your poll questions ideas for our next poll!! Blbpaws@cncgeneralsworld.com is the address....

New Poll and Poll Results

I added a new poll for this week. It asks: "Do you still play Zero Hour?" I'm curious to see if people out there still do. I haven't been playing much recently, but perhaps that's because most of my time has been going to the All-Stars mod.

Also, here are the results from our last poll.
Are you active on the Generals World Forums?
Yes
21
45%
No
25
54%

Total Votes: 46

We can do better then 46 votes! Show your site spirit!
Also, as always, I'm interested in what you think the next poll question should be. Fire off an e-mail to Blbpaws@cncgeneralsworld.com.

Community News Update

It's been a while since we've had one of these and since all our news posters seem to have abandoned us I guess I'm the one doing it...Also, a quick note on All-Stars for those wondering about the lack of updates. We ARE still working on the mod, and work is coming along very well I would say. We are nearing the Alpha stage and once we reach that, expect a wealth of screenshots and other media heading your way.

Another note: Generals World is interested in staff. We are especially in need of newsposters to do community updates like the one you just finished reading. If you're interested, e-mail the webmaster at MicScoTho@cncgeneralsworld.com.

CNC 3 News from Australia

Thanks go to Generals Files for finding this news item. Here's a bit of C&C news, originating from the land "Down Under."

Australian gaming news website Gamebiz reports that there is currently a new Command & Conquer title under development - to be named Command and Conquer Tiberian Twilight.

They report that they have "received word from a source within Electronic Arts Studios that they are working on a new Command & Conquer title." Other than that, there is not much new information to note. For their full news post, you may head here.

Remember: there is still no official word from EA, and, in my opinion, likely won't be until LOTR: Battle For Middle Earth is released. Therefore this, at most, helps to confirm some of the rumors that have been circling lately.

Updates at CNC Community

CNC Community.net has released two new website features today: a Command & Conquer community listing and the Modding Encyclopedia.

The Community Listing lists all of the known fansites in the Command & Conquer online community. It is very comprehensive, as it is the list that Uni uses on his "community roundup" posts at CNC Unleashed.

Here's how the Modding Enyclopedia was described on the CNC Community homepage:
Using an automated script you can ask whatever question you want about modding C&C and they will be answered by modder Comrade Max. Eventually the Encylopaedia will become a valuable source of modding information. So if there's something you want to know about modding be sure to head over to the Mod Enc and ask!
Be sure to head on over to CNC Community and check out these two new features!

CNC Community Fansite of the Week

The CNC Community website announced yesterday that YR Argentina is the Fan Site of the Week!

SgtJohnson had an interview with ArgCmdr, discussing his work on the Yuri's Revenge Argentina mod. Here's a snip from that:
What do you try to accomplish with your mods?
My work is about innovation mostly. The idea behind my mods is to provide the challenge the game does not, and at the same time, use a well armed ambient, always or almost always inspired on epics. As such, music and sounds are possibly one of the strongest points of any of my mods. My intention is to emulate the deep atmosphere generated in Tiberian Sun, and the emotional and tense universe in other games like Homeworld.
The full interview can be read at CNC Community here. Also, be sure to check out the YR Argentina website for information about the mod and more!
