EA Settles Overtime Suit

As widely mentioned, Electronic Arts has settled a lawsuit brought against them by developers of their games, alleging unpaid overtime. The total of the settlement is $14.9 million (just less than the $15 million the graphics artists of EA got for the same claim last year). As we mentioned last year, a clear indication of the issues at hand was a post on the 'EA_Spouse' blog, making evident many of the complaints. That blogger has been revealed to be Erin Hoffmann, wife of Leander Hasty, a former EA programmer who filed the suit after suffering extreme "crunch-time" workloads while developing Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle-Earth, an RTS built on the same engine as BFME II, C&C Generals and Zero Hour, and C&C 3.
