this thread to respond and clarify some details about his history, namely his work with Westwood and whether or not he was fired from EA. Below is his post:
No, I wasn't fired. I decided to take a break so I could spend time with my family. During my break, I went to E3 just to catch up with friends only to walk out with 6 job offers. Shortly thereafter I resigned from EA.
Technically, I did work at Westwood. After EA purchased Westwood, they merged the ex-Virgin studio in Irvine into Westwood and called it "Westwood Pacific". Each week or so I travelled to Las Vegas for a day or two to participate as part of the exec staff. During that time, I was fortunate to learn a tremendous amount from Brett, Louis and the rest of the folks there about making games.
I'm working on assuring that it really is Mark, but the admins of the forums are adament that it is. No mention from him about RA3.
