This map is designed to have three long beaches which connect opponents bases to each other. Each beach has flanking routes, opportunities to ambush enemies from the water in their own harbor, and valuable resources in the middle of them. This is an awesome 6 player map which features incredible choke points for easy base defense setup and as well the ability to employ advanced tactics to conquer your enemies!

Description
The goal of this map was to create a real urban environment with a non-symmetrical geography.

The map represents a virtual place in China at the seaside, it's a big city divided by a river with a desert on north-east and mountains on the west. On the left bank there is the rich city with its skyscrapers while on the right bank there is the mill town and the industrial area. In the mountains on the east there is a isolated village. In the eastern desert you will find a part of an oil field. There is also an international airport near the sea on the south.

The two parts of the city are linked by two road bridges and one railway bridge. A train runs across the map and connects two parts of the city and the oil field, it can only carry infantry. You will find in the industrial area a building reducing the costs of vehicles, within the port area a vehicles repair bay, in a city an hospital, and in the military base near the airport a reinforcement pad. The airport and the port each include a supply dock. Each base has also its supply dock.

The original scenario was an US / Chinese intervention from the large base in the south-west to stop the progression of GLA (northern base). The map was designed in that way, but everything is possible, enjoy!

This is a SKIRMISH and MULTIPLAYER map despite its title. It is a 'role playing' map, complete with a background storyline which carries on from the final mission (China mission 5) of zero hour. In brief, it is about a biochemical attack on a nuclear power facility in Azerbaijan in an attempt by the GLA to capture nuclear warheads from Russia scheduled for reprocessing (for more details, read storyline.txt). This map is set in a vast oilfield in Azerbaijan, which includes a large petroleum processing facility and a nuclear reactor complex. As you might have guessed, there's an extensive network of offshore oil derricks just waiting to be captured. So, cash will not be a problem provided you guard them well. Also, nuke trucks and a battleship are available for capture.

Description
Two player map with a small river running through the middle. There is some buildings and cars to the North West and South East, along with other areas of supplies, vehicles, and tents. There is an old wall spanning the map, parts of which have been destroyed by road construction and earthquakes along the river. The base areas are close together, so it won't take long for enemy units to arrive!

Dark Fortress Plays Three Ways:
AOD ~ Art of defense style map featuring a Fortress Player scripted for all factions.
Human Fortress Player ~ Human plays against four players and receives all fortress buildings.
Skirmish ~ Play as a four-player skirmish map with many tech buildings to capture in the center.

AOD Style:
Do you like playing AOD type maps playing against impossible odds?
Would you like to pick the faction and the speed of the AOD player?
Would you like to play an AOD type map with the help of human or AI players?

Unlike most AOD maps, which are scripted for one faction (usually GLA) and made for only human players, Dark Fortress uses unique scripting allowing you to pick the faction and speed of the AOD attack. Each faction plays the fortress position a little different both in timing of attacks and the units they use. That keeps things interesting. The Fortress is designed to take out Four AI players on hard setting. Instead of huge waves sweeping over the map, the Fortress player's strength will start small and continue to grow until it wipes you off the map… or at least that's what the Fortress player thinks. He writes the following warning to you.

“As the ruler of the Dark Fortress, I demanded that all people leave MY land and will wipe out all those who oppose me. Any attempt to use Super Weapons will be dealt with in kind and retaliation for using Generals Attacks will also not be pretty. You China players can make your upgrades at the Propaganda Center but whatever you do, you’d better move fast as I will only get stronger with time."

So... Will you be the one to stop the fortress?

Human Fortress Player
A Human player in the fortress position receives all fortress buildings for the faction they're playing at the beginning of the game. This would include the Tech building for their faction, eight Barracks, four War and Air factories if applicable and over sixty Turrets and Artillery platforms. This player does not get scripted teams or Avenger Enhanced Turrets like the AOD Fortress player but Super Weapon countermeasures are still in place.

Skirmish Style
Keeping the center position open activates a different set of scripts making it more of a king of the hill type map. The player who controls the center section of the map will have many advantages. Buildings up from grabs include four Oil Derricks, four Reinforcement Pads, four Boss War Factories, twenty Artillery Platforms and an Oil Refinery. With bridge-only access, many buildable areas and four Supply Docks to keep you going, this area is a great place to make a stand against stronger players.

Player Relationships
Player relationships between the fortress position and the other four positions are scripted to be enemies. This is true in both AOD and Human player modes. The relationships of the other four positions are not scripted so if you want to play 2 vs 2 vs The Fortress you can. I recommend you set all players to be on your team when starting out and the scripting will take care of the rest.

Many months of scripting went into this map. Hope you enjoy it.

This revision removes the scripts that told idol workers to gather supplies, which was causing problems for GLA players.

players: 7 player map, three to six hunman players vs one AI gla enemy

Game: command and conquer generals zero hour

map type: AOD (art of defence) cooperative team of human players vs one gla AI enemy

map goal: the player must stop the enemy from crossing the blue line untill the timer
has expired. capture the area over the blue line and then hold it.

strategies: players must build anti tanks, anti air and defence by the beacons shown on
map, each player has set units to build, some of the best tanks and troops are
avalible to build. players will get the standard general powers of the faction they
have picked. i recommend the heavy tanks in front, follow by powerfull anti tank and
anti troop behind them, then 'plenty' of anti air just behind them.
Your cash suplys are located to the west side of the map, and wont run out for the
entire game. all upgrades can be found in the suply center and black market.
