Ive bought and been playing C&C3: Kane Edition, and well, from what ive seen it looks decent. Not brilliant, but not bad. I was a bit disapointed, but I still was happy enough. Now this is really annoying me - My game keeps on crashing to desktop with an error message of "Out of memory: 6 Adresses: [A list of lines with cnc3game.dat+.......] then "Because of the severity of this error the game will now exit"

This happens everythime I try loading a saved skirmish game, when I turn off "Enable High Audio Quality" and sometimes randomly when playing.
I have a gig of ram, so I dont think that is the problem. The game runs perfectly smooth also. Another problem is my sound in the game is slightly crackly at times, mainly when watching movies. This is really annoying me.
I currently have verion 1.03. I will get 1.04, but from the bug list I read it doesnt seem to have anything to fix this problem. Please help. Its all cool for EA to show off about their new game and say I must buy it, but when I do it is hardly playable with this crashing, and it doesnt matter to them because they already have my money, dont they?

Any background programs running when you're playing the game?

Just the usual - Xfire, Anti Virus, MSN, Bandwidth Moniter, Daemon Tools.

I don't usually have any of them, except the anti-virus, on when playing any games. Try turning them off before you play the game.

I tried that. Still has the same crashing error. My brother took a look into it (He's got a degree in computer science) and said it was completely a game fault, nothing to do with my PC. Oh well, best see if 1.04 fixes it. Its not major, but its still an inconvienience to a very nice game.

Hmm... Very odd, I haven't ran into a single crash in this game since I bought it...

Then it must be a computer specific error. Will update drivers and game, see if it fixes it. Still strange though, I have a feeling a virus might be responsible. :/

try looking for a memory test program with google and download and run it. since it says something about being out of memory maybe your ram is damaged. this program should work: http://www.memtest86.com/

Ah, ive fixed it now. Was some weird collision with my Daemon tools actualy. It though I was running a mounted disk, or something like that. Well, when I closed daemon tools the problem vanished. Thanks anyway for the help. :)

a memory crash because of daemon tools? my c&c 3 wouldn´t even start and gave a message about emulation software detected instead because of daemon tools and some ezplay stuff i had to disable.
