When Scrin Mastermind brainwashes game crashes. Solution?

I just played the cool game Command & Conquer 3-Tiberium Wars on windows vista. And all levels of Nod and GDI I busted. Now finally the Scrin mission are unlocked.
It seems that I cant go beyond the 2nd Scrin mission. In that level you have to use Manipulator device to brainwash GDI soldiers. Whenever I use the manipulator device for the second time the game crashes and auto shuts down.
So what I do? Which patch or bug fix I need?
Please give me the solution I shall be very thankfully.

Haven't played it myself so did a search and found this post. There doesn't seem to be any indication that there is a problem with using mind control. The post does say that using it requires working with it and you don't have time to waste.
