First of all, I've checked out the tutorials I could find for make models for Zero Hour and they are pretty good. However, there are some questions which I haven't found the answer to.

1) Modifying Generals Models without losing/affecting textures (Importing then exporting also ruins the model's texture)

When I import a W3D model like let's say UBUndTunn.w3d (the GLA tunnel network), it's imported without visible textures (yet the .tga files it relies on (not all) can be seen from the Material Navigator)

Now the issue is that if I were to export the model as is, the textures will be messed up. Notice how not all the textures are applied.

Looking into the problem I found out that when I import a w3d model in RenX, not all the textures are imported. For instance, when I import UBUndTunn.w3d, two textures are missing (pmsandbags2.tga and woodboard.tga). The rest of the textures are imported properly.

How can I overcome this issue?
This may help: I found out that the those two textures (the missing ones) are only found in Generals textures and not in the Zero Hour textures.

2) Apply texture to a portion of a model

When I attempted to apply a texture to a certain segment of a model it is applied to other segments. How can I separate/unbind them?

Thanks in advance.Smile
