So i'm messing around with ZH again.
This is what happened.

The vanilla game was working ok, then i put my old mod file into it.
The game wouldn't start, kept crashing. Was saying a weapon template was missing.

Messed around with it some, got random issues, removed the mod file. Then vanilla wouldn't start anymore, kept saying the same issues.

Deleted INIZH in case i accidentally modified it, repaired the game. Same issues.

Then i looked in the files and found a second copy of the unmodded INIZH, but in the INI folder. Deleted it, and the game started up ok... except it is still acting like my mod file is there, it has my units and shell map and all.

Looked everywhere, my file isn't in the game's files anymore. Looked in all the cnc folders, the cnc my documents folder, even deleted the mod file from the desktop, searched for it in the search bar, came up with no results.

Even checked to see if the repair function had somehow put my file together with the vanilla one, it didn't.

Any idea as to how CNC still thinks the mod is there?

I was wondering if it could be something like that, I'll try replacing it when I get home. Thanks

On the side, is that all game.dat does is store temporary info? Is there anything to be done with it modding wise?
