Hey I'm beginning to crack this GUI thing, if anyone's got tips and tricks up their sleeve, now the time is to speak up!

So far I've redone the menu, shellmap, and some of the button's text and design. Anybody know how resize the texture that appears around the shellmap (the black thing on top and bottom with Command & Conquer written on it, see screenshot)?

In the future I will redesign a less intrusive controlbar with smaller buttons and less wasted space, so if anyone has ideas for that pitch it.

A long overdue update on GUI stuff.

Automatically places user in the "Fullscreen" mode to show 20% more Command and Conquer.

The update features an RA2 inspired controlbar, however it will be compressed in the future to a 1x14 command bar to be even less intrusive.

Money has been moved to the top of the screen.

Map has been shoved in a corner and made smaller.

Controlbar and build box are completely invisible when not being used.

I have found this is the best way to play, as the screen is bigger, units easier to see and select, and a completely invisible
(when needed) Control bar.

This still has many bugs and glitches, so stay tuned for more GUI madness.

Man do I love that layout!

Personally, I didn't see any problems with the existing layout, but yours is rather nice.

The only thing is that I actually prefer the controlbar to be on the bottom, same with the money things. But that's just me.

I would suggest though making the map image a little bit bigger. That's really my only beef with the design, as with he other ones I can adjust too well enough.

You can make the ??? button the "General's Communicator" or something like that I think. That or it's the thing that shows who's currently playing and who's defeated.

Any old friends still on here can add me on discord @jcdenton2187. I'm far more likely to respond there.

Hey do you guys know if there is a way to make and run a custom script in C&C zero hour? I need to assign it to a commandbutton.

Is there any way to do this?

I plan to make a shortcut from the commandbar that will change the camera pitch in game

What about a commandbutton in a commandcenter, a build button which will build an invisible object in 1 second and that object lives for 2 seconds.
You can add the object to a objectlist called CAM for example and make some scripts in wb to check if the object exists, check every second or so.

Code:

CAM Up
*** IF ***
Player 'Sjaakie' has Greater Than or Equal To 1 unit or structure of type 'CAM'
*** THEN ***
  Change camera zoom to 1.50 in 5.00 seconds, ease-in 0.00 seconds, ease-out 0.00 seconds.
Set timer 'CAM' to expire in 5.00 seconds.
  Enable Script 'CAM Up Rerun'.

CAM Up Rerun
*** IF ***
  Timer 'CAM' has expired.
*** THEN ***
  Enable Script 'CAM Up'.

Or maybe im just full of dogpoo
