For the first time i made my own design tank i can't believe that i made it with help of killas mod tutorial.Now my problem is i don't know how to create a thread moving and those gear haha Big Smile
Somebody help please.....

I asked for that before, I remember that the answer was “ It's hardcoded ”
But, I advise to wait someone who is more experienced in modelling...

Oohh. Eeee...Uhm.
I know how, but it's a little stressful explaining how to do so.

Instead, seeing as you obviously have Gmax, I'll attach the Tutorial to this post and direct you to where you should read to figure out how to do so.

Please note that in the Tutorial he is a using a completely different model. So unless you want to follow his tutorial with the model he is using, it will probably be best to just read.

Hopefully you already know how the animating process works, if not, I guess I could try to help you through it, but lets see if you can do this section of it on your own for right now.

Go under "Rigging a Character - Skinning the Character" and it should help you out with your problem.

Edit: Actually, now that I think about it, that in itself may not be 100% useful but it could help. If it doesn't help, the only other thing I can think of is animating the tread and the wheels at the same time.

Animated textures can be created in the gmax/Renx material editor.
Check This for more info, it's at the bottom of the page.

Stage 0 Mapping->Type:Linear Offset->args:VPerSec=1.0 or UPerSec=1.0

You can change the value to adjust the speed of the moving texture

If I remember correctly, there are bones that animate the textures for the tracks.

As for the wheels, you can give them object names such as 'WHEELxx' xx being the wheel number.

Put your tanks into a .rar file and upload it into your next comment. If I don't look at it I'm sure someone else will for you and give you a good demonstration on how to do it.

Yes, you do have very impressive looking tanks.
But like I've asked, if you put them into a file and upload that into another comment then people can download those files and take a look at those ourselves. I only have a good 12 hours left until I hop on a train to go to Thanksgiving with people, so I'm available to look at it, but only for today.

Actually, the wheels will take many polygons. And in zero hour you have a limited number of polygons.

my model has 17000 polygons sir.I deleted my Tanks iwant to create a new i think i cant create a good model if polygons is limited.

At best, keep the models at around 3000 polys.

I had one that went over 3600 and the game couldn't handle it- and just crashed.

We could have still used those tanks to help you create the tread and wheel motion. If you're not going to upload a file then i doubt anybody can help you much more than acidbrain did because he gave you a good link to look at for reference.
