Hi,

Just installed C&C Generals on my new computer (Win 7 64bit, 570GTX, 24" LED 1080p Widescreen) and have encountered a strange problem; I dont seem to be able run at full screen unless I select 800x600 resolution which obviously I want to avoid if possible!

I used to be able to play at 1600x1200 on my older computer with similar specs (Win 7 64bit, 8800GTS, 24" LCD 1080p Widescreen) but this option isnt available now? I realise 1200 is slightly larger than moniters native resolution (1920x1080) but didnt have any problems before. If I manually add "Resolution 1600 1200" to the options.ini file then I get a Directx error. Disapprove

Ive downloaded the latest patches and drivers etc. Any advice please?

Thanks.

ahhh.. easy to fix :-)

you will have to play around a bit in some files.

1. put your game in the higest resulution as you can in the game.
2. exit the game.
3. go to: Libraries/Documents/command and conquer generals: zero hour now, locate the file "options.ini"
4. now, locate in the options.ini folder: ""resulution (numbers) and change those two numbers in your resulution. Mine is 1600 1000 so mine says: ""resulution 1600 1000. but you can try to write 1600 1200.

hope this help hehe
hmm...
if I don't reply to a topic I don't know the answer - sorry

Hi, thanks for the reply!

I used my monitors native resolution of 1920x1080 and it works now :) It still displays "800x600" in the in-game menu though which is what was confusing me, but I just took a screenshot and it is indeed at 1920x1080 so appears to be ok :)
