Hi all,
I'm making a new map which will have a very brief cine intro. I would like to play the Ambulance Audio File - "The Battlefield is a messy place". I've located it in the .BIGs - it's in the original Generals Audio .BIG and titled "vambsee". V for Vehicle. AMB for Ambulance. SE for selected and E as it's the 5th of 7 "On Select" sounds.
Other than .INI editing, is there a way to play this specific line in my cine intro, as opposed to the other 6 "On Select" Ambulance sounds?

It's not possible, in order to play that specific sound file you need to have a map.ini that creates a new SoundEvent that only uses that sound file, you give it a name and you paste it on world builder, world builder will say that it doesn't exist, just ignore, it will exist once the map.ini is loaded. Thanks. Would a map.ini that had this and nothing but this still cause a mismatch online? Also, how about .WAK files? My map has waves on a beach. I can't actually think of a non-official map I've played online with them? Perhaps I just don't notice when there's a battle in progress... Edited by user Friday, August 18, 2017 5:56:27 AM(UTC)

My bet is that it wouldn't cause a mismatch, but whoever receives the map through in-game transfer won't hear the sound untill they restart the map. |

Meh... Sky, no offense but if you don't know an answer, just don't reply. You are not helping anybody with wrong information and assumptions. Check this link: http://www.cnclabs.com/f...und--Button-Working.aspxWith this you can test sound files within the worldbuilder.

Thanks i^love^mixery.
I've already done that, the problem is that the drop down box allows me to choose the "AmbulanceVoiceSelect" sound file. There are 7 different AmbulanceVoiceSelect sounds, and clicking preview sound cycles through them. If I choose this, then in game it plays a random one of those 7. I want a specific one. Is there a way to do that?
Thanks in advance,

You don't need to tell me to not reply when I don't know an answer, because I don't reply if I don't know an answer, in this case I thought I knew the answer so I replied, apparently I was wrong. I would like you to show me exactly what did I say that is wrong? Originally Posted by: Snodderz If I choose this, then in game it plays a random one of those 7. I want a specific one. Thanks in advance, I'm almost sure the only way to do it is with using a map.ini EDIT: Forgot to tell you that, .wak wave files don't cause mismatches and are ok with online/multiplayer maps. Edited by user Friday, August 18, 2017 11:45:10 AM(UTC)

Oh oh mixery, maybe you should have read the question before posting this bullsjit comment dont you think? Code:
AudioEvent AmbulanceVoiceSelect
Sounds = vambsea vambseb vambsec vambsed vambsee vambsef
Control = random
Volume = 90
Type = ui voice player
End
vambsee.wav is the "The battlefield is a messy place" voice and if you only want to use that voice you have to create a new audio event which you can listen to in worldbuilder, you will only hear the "The battlefield is a messy place" instead of a random choice of 6 voices... SkyMix provided the right answer... So mixery... Meh... Mixery, no offense but if you don't provide a good answer because you didnt read the question well enough, just keep your big cocky mouth shut ok?. You are not helping anybody with wrong information and a big cocky mouth. I know it is just the way you are mixery, i know that God looked at you when he saw that it was good, i know that God prefers you instead of his own son Jesus but that doesnt mean that you can behave like a total d.ick over here... Oups... yes, I actually forgot about the cycles.
Sorry I didn't preview a sound file in almost 5 years. No need to start another *censored*storm, acid. Even though I do enjoy them :)

Btw on another note... I've had mismatches because of sound files before. Not related to an .ini, tho.
You will need to test it.

I know there was no need for a *censored*storm but since it was you and I know that you like it when I talk dirty to you I added a bit of extra condensation to my comment...:P I can be a bit cancerous every now and then, just like you, and to be honest I also enjoy it...:) Your turn now...
