Hi

I just bought Command and Conquer Generals and have tried installing the game, I inserted cd1 and then inserted cd2 and got a error at 75%, I will attach image.

Error cd2

I have cleaned the cd doesn't have any scratches.

I'm on Windows 10 Enterprise. If you need any more info reply back. Thumb Up

The Generals discs don't work on windows 10.

Microsoft removed a driver that worked with the type of disc security used in the 00s.

Your best bet is to get origin and the Ultimate collection (I think it's on sale at the moment (£6 for every C&C game).

Windows 7 requires a bit of tinkering. I'm sure there are posts that deal with this.

I know I successfully installed Generals and Zero Hour on Window 8 and 8.1. I can't remember how I did it though....

I do have a suggestion, it might have to do with your Windows Defender/ Anti Virus. I just installed Skyrim lately and it would have an error at around 70% and it wouldn't install and came up with an error message. So then, I temporarily turned off Windows Defender and presto! xD

Another suggestion I can make is to just keep researching. I poked around for a little while (30min) and could unfortunately only find how to fix ZH on windows 10 when it's already been installed.

8 and 8.1 should work fine. They didn't have the same problems Vista and 7 had.
