Well, never saw it this bad, there is only 1 generals related thread in maps and wb ffs... Would like to join you but it remembers me of that dutch kid who put his finger in the dike..:P One of the admins should give one of the remaining people adminrights to clean the house because if it stays like this it is better to pull the whole site... |

I wonder if the site could be turned into some sort of locked archive instead of shut down. Seems like the only place left to download everything needed to mod Generals. |

Part of the reason I haven't returned here much is that I just haven't had much time to mod ZH anymore, and what free time I get I usually invest in Team Fortress 2. |

Yeah I'm guilty of not having enough time either. I miss my game computer so I can run World Builder without all the lag-time. I'm trying to get back at it though because I miss it ;( |

I'd say around 70% done for the third faction.
I just need more unit ideas. Most of the third faction's structures is done.
I'll probably release it officially once I'm just done with the factions. Then add-on a custom campaign afterwards. |

We've tried several things to get a handle on the bot problem but none has worked. It's probably due to the old version of the forums we have, but we can't really change that easily. Rest assured, we appreciate the moderators who delete the posts.
You're all right that the legitimate traffic has died down a lot, which makes the bots seem worse. I obviously post less too because I don't have the time to mod anymore. The CNC community as a whole is also almost gone--there is almost no one left. We have no intention of taking the site down, however. |

I think the root of the problem is that Generals is a really old game in a dead franchise. A lot of people (including me) have moved on to other games. And even the newer C&C games never really got as much as a modding or mapping community, and CnC Labs failed to capture much of it. So the bots saw the opportunity to move in... On the bright side, I'm working on a C&C 3 mod that is getting close to an alpha release. Maybe I can generate some buzz on these forums with it. |

Well Blbpaws and Commie, isn't it possible to add a letter thingy or let a new user enter a time that is displayed on a clock for example, the forum is based on old stuff but in those days there were also bots active if im not mistaking? Here is an anti-bot clock thingy... Good to hear that you still are modding CNC games Commie, working on a rather big ZH mod project myself, am writing a java application to work with the mod, not going to tell more because I don't want to spoil it, the 10 people who are still active nowadays will soon find out what it is..:P Have a nice day fellaz |
