I have cnc zero hour (ver 1.04) up and running well but once I save a current game, which the game confirms has been done, and try to load it afterwards, I get an error loading game message which includes the path to the storage directory
I am only currently using official maps that came with the game
any suggestion would be appreciated
thanks

Have you tried re-installing? What is your operating system?

Well, i haven't seen a save error like this before. The fact that it sees it's own saved games, and just can't load them, makes me think they are saving in the right place but being corrupted.

i think reinstalling will be your best bet, really:/
Or, you could also try deleting everything in the main ZH directory, then repair the game which should add it all back. Make sure to test the fix with a new saved game, not the ones you've already made.

Your welcome.

i was just thinking, if you don't have TheFirstDecade pack i'm not sure how to repair it. If your using TFD you can click Add/Remove and then there's an option to repair it. If you just have generals+ZH then you might find repair in Start/AllPrograms/EAGames/GeneralsZH. Just make sure you know where the repair button is before deleting stuff, lol.

To delete the stuff, go to C:/ProgramFiles/EAGames/Command & Conquer(tm) Generals Zero Hour.
You'll have to go through The First Decade folder if you have that.

Then, just delete all the stuff in that folder. After that repair it, and it should add everything back.

stupid me...I figured it out..all along the games that I was saving and trying to reload with no success were all done with unofficial maps. After seeing this, I saved and successfully reloaded a number of games using official maps only. Now of course the question is why won't the unofficial maps work. A quick scan of the internet tells me that this is not an uncommon problem. I really want to avoid uninstalling and reinstalling as I have found in the past for whatever reason, this sometimes creates more problems then what I started with....any suggestions for an alternative???
thanks again for your input

Can you not delete/repair? Also, where are the unofficial maps coming from? Are you making them or getting them from the internet?

I have Command & Conquer Generals Deluxe Edition which I am running on Windows 7 32 bit.
I've had the game for quite a few years and its always ran fine but recently when I try to load
a save game (USA campaign mode) I get an error message just like mr b has been getting. I have no
idea whats causing it as I just did a clean install of the game.

Your saved game file could be corrupted.
